IndoChina advertising agency network Riverorchid has hired an executive from Nokia to run its media offering.

Christer Horn af Åminne takes on the role of group media director, moving from Beijing – where he was Nokia’s head of APAC product operations – to Phnom Penh.

The Swede will run planning and buying operations across the Riverorchid group with a focus on Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos.

Santiphong Pimolsaengsuriya, (Pick), Riverorchid’s CEO said: “Our media operations across Indochina have been growing in scale and sophistication, and with significant continued development in particular in our Cambodia and Myanmar businesses, now is time to invest further in senior media resource.”

“This is the first time we have appointed a Group Media head,” he said. “We are confident Christer will help greatly in supporting our existing teams with their ever increasing workloads and levels of sophistication in media analysis.”

Horn af Åminne has experience in media, having started his career at MediaCom in Denmark, and also worked for the media agency in Germany and Sweden.

He moved to Nokia from MediaCom in 2008, and left Helsinki for Beijing and his most recent role in July 2012.
